I have a love hate relationship with Special Operations. I love the work and the travel, etc. I love the adrenaline rush. But at the same time, I hate them as well...I hate coming down from the rush. I hate being away from my family...but it's part of the job I truly do love.

I started my Special Ops career in 1995 when I enlisted in the U.S. Navy. My high school sweetheart's dad was a retired SEAL and I idolized him. The day before I left for boot camp, he told me some of his stories. In a heartbeat, I knew that's what I wanted to do.

I tried out for BUD/S and much to my surprise, I was accepted. I was in class 215 and I actually made it through Hell Week...just to break my leg a few weeks later and was medically dropped. I was given the chance to attend the SWCC course which I did and graduated with honors!!! I then attended an assortment of schools and was a true operator in the Special Operations Community...and have been ever since...though I am no longer in the Navy. I now am in the Army.
